10-10-10 Don’t Panic!

I know I haven’t been very active here recently. I’ve been chasing literary windmills. And that’s only going to get worse in November.

But I wanted to break my stone faced silence because there is an important issue that needs to be brought to the attention of the geek populace.

You may be aware that this coming Sunday is 10-10-10. That in itself sounds pretty cool. But it gets cooler when you realize that 101010 in binary is…42!

That’s right! 10-10-10 is 42 Day!

If you don’t get the significance of that and why it breaks all previous records of calendar-related coolness, you’re on the wrong blog.

So in honor of 42 Day, here are a few ideas for how you can celebrate:

1. Carry a towel with you–everywhere.
2. Make yourself a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster
3. Practice throwing yourself at the ground and trying to miss
4. Try calculating the improbability of everything that happens to you that day
5. Make reservations at an exclusive restaurant–with a nice view of the end of everything
6. Read a good book
7. Watch a good movie
